Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to order?
We offer mixed boxes of certified organic produce, and for many people these are the easiest option, and the best value.  Each week the selection changes, reflecting the best available produce, with changes week to week to ensure you get good variety. There are a number of different sizes, to suit different sized households. We detail the contents each week, so you may add other items as you need them. Please note that the contents of the boxes and our prices are updated every Tuesday, so if you place an order for a Thursday delivery prior to Tuesday, the contents may be different to the listing you see when you order.

What if I don't like certain things?
Likes and dislikes can be added in the comments section, so that you don't get things in your boxes that you don't like. If you'd prefer to choose everything yourself, feel free to make up your own box using the shopping cart.

Quantity and Size of Fresh Produce
I ordered 1 kg of broccoli and received only 850 grams, why did that happen?
Due to the organic nature of our product exact weights are difficult to measure.  For example 1 head of broccoli may vary in weight from 300g to 500g.  We don't want to cut your veggies up so we try and pack as closely as possible.  To avoid pushing your costs up we usually pack slightly less than you've asked if it is not possible to be  exact.  Of course, we're more than happy to give you slightly more than you've indicated, so that you can be sure that you have enough. Just let us know in the comments section when you check out. We weigh all produce and charge you for exactly what you receive.

Why is my invoice total different to my order total?
As we weigh all produce and charge you for exactly what you receive there may be slight variations from the requested amounts. (see above) Although we endeavour to keep our website up to date, occasionally items become unavailable during the week and so cannot be supplied.

What if I'm not going to be home when my delivery arrives?
That's OK, just leave a note in the comments section about the best place for our driver to leave your box of goodies. Please note that Garden Organics cannot be held responsible for your box once it has been delivered, so please make arrangements so that your produce does not sit out in the sun.

Is all your produce certified organic?
Yes, all of our fresh produce is certified Organic or Biodynamic. Garden Organics is a certified retailer with  ACO (Australian Certified Organics Retailer 3002R). Our store is audited annually to ensure we comply with the Organic Standards set by ACO.  We do not sell or provide produce that is called organic but not certified.  Phrases such as "farm fresh", "no spray" or " home grown" are not certified organic and are not purchased by us or sold by us.  It must be certified organic or biodynamic by a reputable certifying body before we wil stock an item.

Where is your produce grown?
All of our fresh produce is grown in Australia, with the occasional exception of Kiwifruit, which is grown in New Zealand. Wherever possible, we support our local (Organic and Biodynamic) farmers.

Do you supply conventional produce when organic is unavailable?
No. We only ever sell Organic or Biodynamic produce, so our range reflects the seasonal availability of our Australian climate. Don't expect stone fruit in Winter or asparagus in Autumn! Our prices also reflect the availability of seasonal produce so you'll notice when something first becomes available, it may be expensive, but generally the price drops as it becomes more available.

What is the minimum order?
$39 is the minimum order, which excludes delivery fee. (order your delivery on the designated day for your area to receive half price delivery)

What if I'm not happy with my produce?
Contact us straight away and we'll do our best to fix the problem. We pride ourselves on supplying premium quality produce, and we want you to be happy. (click here for contact details)

What are the options for payment?
At present we are able to offer secure credit card facilities for Visa or Mastercard only. Alternatively, you can make a direct deposit into our bank account, once your order has been processed. Please call or email us for further details.

Is it safe to order online?
Yes - Whenever you provide personal details the information is encrypted (securely coded) during transmission between your computer and our web server. Your credit card information is stored in an encrypted form in our database and only accessible by an authorised and appropriately authenticated Garden Organics staff member, including a double log in process.

Will my information be secure?
Yes, all your information is held on a secure server and our strict privacy policy ensures that your details remain 100% safe and secure. We will never sell or solicit your information in anyway.

When I try to complete my order, the shopping cart is blank... what happened?
